16 months ago Hugo Barra, then Vice President of Android Product, launched the Chromecast. Finally it has made its way to India. Chromecast is a digital media steaming device from Google. It is very tiny and can be plugged into the HDMI port of your TV, but needs to be powered by a USB cable. Once connected it can stream digital media content through mobile and web apps. It is a great buy for Netflix and Hulu users, but these services are not available in India. Don’t loose heart, you can still stream youtube and any other streaming service available in India. IOS and Andorid mobile apps can be used to cast mobile apps while the chrome browser tab can be used to cast the web apps. In India is is available through Snapdeal and priced at Rs 2999. Airtel has bundled in some offers for broadband users. Check out the prices and offers in Snapdeal.
